Fred Phillips, the founder and managing director of leading national design consultants Atelier do Sul was invited to be one of the select jury at this year’s prestigious PRISMA Awards, alongside its president Henrique Cayatte and other design-based professionals. The PRISMAs are the leading industry awards in Portugal recognising innovation in design. This year, 73 entries were received from over 20 major national and international advertising agencies and design consultancies throughout the country. Categories included everything from websites to exhibition stands, and work submitted represented the whole spectrum of retail, commercial and industrial projects. “I was very honoured to be invited to be on the jury of this national design competition,” said Fred Phillips, “and even more so as we came away with a bronze award for our identity work for the Espírito Santo Group on TIVOLI Hotels – great for us and great for our client.” Atelier do Sul was responsible for the project to design the corporate identity for the newly created TIVOLI chain of hotels, part of the Espírito Santo group of companies. Following this, they designed and produced a complete range of material, including promotional brochures and hotel stationery, as well as external and internal signs for the hotels, located throughout mainland Portugal and on Madeira.
