UN sends relief to flood victims

FOOD DROPS and a series of airlifts were launched by the United Nations for more than one million people affected by the floods in Somalia and Kenya. The only way food could be delivered was by air as bridges and roads have been destroyed by flood water. Many residents were forced to seek shelter in trees when their houses were washed away and they were attacked by hungry wild animals. International aid agencies have voiced their concerns as the refugee camps are reporting more cases of cholera and other diseases relating to poor living conditions.
