afpop retirement planning seminars

afpop has announced an additional presentation at the Retirement Planning Seminars taking place next week. Luís Teixeira da Silva, a director of the Silves Odissey Village project, will be presenting the outlook and potential for rental-based senior living communities in the Algarve.
This will complement the subjects to be covered by the two other speakers, Matthew Krystman, Director of Imperius Asset Management, and Dr Paulo Sousa, Medical Director of Grupo Hospital Particular do Algarve.
Matthew Krystman will be covering: the UK budget 2014 – changes to pension lump sums, annuity purchases and death duties; tax changes to pensions in Portugal – state and personal pension legislative changes in the recent emergency budgets; changes to legislation affecting QROPS and QNUPS; Non-habitual Residency law – how it works and the benefits offered; and the Portuguese banking and pension system – how the current UK and Portuguese government debt may affect those with state pensions.
Dr Paulo Sousa will be discussing a range of steps that should be taken to maximise wellbeing: prevention and screening of diseases and benefits to health; advantages of healthy exercise and diet control; benefits of treating medical problems at an early stage; and principal diseases that affect the retired population – screening, medical care and control.
The seminar is taking place at the Boavista Golf Clubhouse, Lagos, on Tuesday May 13 and at the Faro Câmara building in the old town on Wednesday May 14.
Coffee and registration will start at 10.15am and the seminar will commence at 11am and last about two hours including time for questions.
Admission is open to all and is free to afpop members. Non-members will be charged €10 payable on the day.
