AFPOP, Portugal’s largest foreign residents association, will be hosting two seminars in May looking at the UK budget for 2014 and how it affects Britons living in Portugal – especially those planning their retirement.
As the association states: “The recent UK budget heralds sweeping changes to UK pensions that include pensioners’ ability to take their entire pension at any time after the age of 55. Other amendments include variations to annuity purchases and a reduction in death duties on pensions.”
All the implications will be explained by Matthew Krystman, Director of Imperius Asset Management – one of AFPOP’s partners.
Dr Paulo Sousa, Medical Director of Grupo Hospital Particular do Algarve – another afpop partner – will also present a range of steps that should be taken by pensioners to maximise their well-being.
The seminars will take place first on May 13 in Lagos, at Boavista Golf Clubhouse, and on May 14 in Faro, at the city hall.
People are welcome to sign up and have coffee at 10.15am on both days, before the seminars begin at 11am.
Admission is open to all and is free to afpop members. Non-members pay €10.
