Carole Good-Dixon (pictured left), a member of afpop, Portugal’s largest foreign residents association, presented the Pirilampos children’s home in Albufeira with a cheque for 400 euros, raised by members of the Alcantarilha group on December 17.
She told the Algarve Resident: “During this last year, members have been saving their raffle money in order to donate to the children.”
She added: “Peta Birch (also pictured) took the visiting group on a tour of all the homes under the care of Amigos das Crianças. It was an enlightening and humbling experience for all.”
