Nasir Ahmad, the Afghan refugee living in Porto who has appealed to the government for help to bring his mother and sister here to live with him (click here), is now on hunger strike. His efforts this far have not resulted in concrete assistance. Tabloid Correio da Manhã says the two women were advised to get themselves to Kabul airport last week, but as one is in a wheelchair, and the situation on the ground was chaotic, this was not possible. Nasir has lodged a petition, and is desperate for answers.
