A NEW emergency unit for Faro Hospital was announced on Tuesday by the managing board in response to the recent crisis that almost led to the resignation of the medical and nursing teams.
Due to cover an area of 800 square metres, the construction date of the new unit was not revealed. The building has an estimated cost of one million euros, plus 400,000 euros for the equipment.
The project consists of a pre-fabricated building where a new organisational system is to start working, with more doctors and specific teams dedicated only to the urgent patients and others to critical medical cases.
