An adventure park is in its final stage of construction in Odeleite, Castro Marim, following a partnership between Portuguese and Spanish entities.
Radical sports, canoeing, archery, mountain biking and paintball are some of the activities on offer. The project, costing a total of €140,000, partly funded by the EU, falls under the Spain-Portugal Cross-border Cooperation Programme and the South Guadiana Sport project and is supported by Castro Marim Câmara.
A spokesman for the Câmara said: “The project aims to promote adventure tourism in this inland part of the Algarve, which will hopefully boost the local economy.” A date for the park’s inauguration is yet to be announced.
