Have you ever wanted to try kayaking or paddle boarding, fly in a gyrocopter or enjoy a salt spa experience? If so, ‘Guadiana Weekend’ is the event for you.
All these experiences and many more will be available for anyone to try for free on September 10 and 11 – all you have to do is sign up beforehand (registrations open on Thursday, August 25 at www.odiana.pt).
The activities are provided by seven tourism companies along the Lower Guadiana River and aim to promote all the services they have to offer, thus “bolstering the local economy”.
There will several experiences on offer: a salt spa, boat and jeep trips, kayaking, paddle surfing, fly boarding and gyrocopter rides.
The event is part of the ‘Choose Guadiana’ project and uses the same motto: “muito mais do que um rio” (much more than a river).
“It is a strategic journey to dynamise and value the economy of the river and its entrepreneurs, providing visibility to their work, promoting the crossing of different approaches and bolstering synergies,” says Odiana, the association that organises the event.
