Active cases rise for 5th day running: hospital numbers up by 22

Today’s Covid bulletin has some wrinkles in the country’s otherwise fairly stellar situation. The number of active cases (now running at 22,257) has increased steadily for the last five days. In 24-hours, active cases increased by +104 – meaning Sunday’s tally of ‘new cases’ (+334) are running above ‘recoveries’ at 229. There has been one death recorded between Saturday and Sunday. The Rt / incidence levels will be revised tomorrow. For the time being the former is at 0.95, with incidence on the mainland at 48.1 cases per 100,000 (still well within the comfortable territory demanded by experts).
