In a bid to encourage shoppers to buy locally, Algarve retailers’ association (ACRAL) is offering the chance to win a brand new Citroën car to anyone who spends at least €10 shopping at local businesses.
The initiative started last weekend and will continue until Wednesday, January 4.
To let shoppers know which stores are taking part, a poster of the car – a Citroën C1 worth around €10,000 – will be placed in shop windows.
For every €10 spent, shoppers will be given a copy of a raffle ticket that will be included in the final draw.
As ACRAL president Álvaro Viegas explains, the goal is to “increase the competitiveness” of “smaller local stores”.
