After the sad discovery of the body of an Irish holidaymaker in the water of Vilamoura marina earlier this month, an autopsy has determined that the 40-year-old died from drowning, almost certainly after accidentally falling into the water during a night out.
There were no signs of violence or anything that could point to crime having been behind the death, reports national tabloid Correio da Manhã – and testimonies from friends that the man told them he was going out for a drink fit with the premise that this was nothing more than a tragedy.
The Irishman was staying at hotel Dom Pedro Marina on what was understood to have been a trip with a group of friends.
