An international conference on accessibility and mobility for all took place in Portimão on October 8, with the city receiving a golden flag for its accessible route.
The pioneering route was used during the conference to demonstrate how changes can be made to improve the quality of life for those with mobility problems.
Câmara official Isabel Guerreiro said: “Portimão is an example of good practice in accessibility and this is the key to the future of the city. The award is a symbolic act which recognises the efforts made by Portimão and its compliance with the national accessibility project.”
