THIS YEAR, there are 134 maritime and fluvial beaches in Portugal which have access conditions for the disabled and people with restricted mobility.
These beaches are designated by a symbol which says Praia Acessível, Praia para Todos, which is part of a national project, coordinated by the Ministry of labour and social affairs and the national rehabilitation institute.
The project, which started in 1994 with the objective of making beaches accessible for everyone, has added 39 more beaches to the list, compared to last year.
