Portimão Câmara is investing around 320,000 euros to build an access route for pedestrians and wheelchair users through the city.
The new 1.2 metre wide route will be five kilometres long and will link to the city’s main public services including post offices, the Câmara and banks.
The path, of which 1,800 metres has already been built and is expected to be completed by December next year, is to be a yellow ochre colour and include signs in Braille.
