ACCA Charity Bike Ride raises over €7,000

Over €7,000 has been raised for children’s charity association ACCA thanks to the Annual Charity Bike Ride which was held on Sunday, June 2 at Conrad Algarve in Quinta do Lago.

The event saw 65 bikers taking part in a bid to aid the association’s ongoing efforts to help the region’s underprivileged children.

Apart from the bike ride, participants, friends and family also enjoyed a selection of “culinary treats, compliments of Conrad”.

ACCA president Wanda Crawford was delighted by the success of the event, which is already in its 10th edition, and said the money will be used to continue providing “life-saving and life-changing” therapies and medical aid to disadvantaged youngsters.

ACCA was founded in 2000 and has been helping children in need in the Algarve ever since.

The association helps children who “either live below the poverty line, or are orphaned and in care, or who require specialist treatment that is not available to them through Social Services”.

ACCA relies on donations and events like the bike ride, which help raise awareness about the help that these associations need to fulfil their goals.
