Abba set for hall of fame honour

Abba is set to be the latest group to be entered into the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

On March 15 in a ceremony in New York, Genesis, The Stooges, Jimmy Cliff and The Hollies will also be inducted.

It is however unlikely that the Swedish band will reform for a performance at the ceremony.

In previous years, the band had previously been nominated for an induction but had failed to make the cut.

A number of non-performers will also be honoured at the ceremony including producer David Geffen, song writers Jesse Stone and Otis Blackwell, who wrote the song Great Balls of Fire.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is open to artists who have released a record at least 25 years prior to their induction.
