Portimão Câmara is running an appeal until Sunday for donations of goods to help abandoned animals in the area.
The initiative Seja Excepcional e Ajude os Animais Abandonados (Be Exceptional and Help Abandoned Animals) aims to provide strays with better living conditions and also intends to educate the community to the needs of stray animals.
Goods such as blankets and towels (new or old), leashes, food, dog houses, beds, shampoos, medication, hygiene products for cats, toys, among others, are needed.
Goods can be delivered to the Quinta Pedagógica de Portimão from today (Friday) between 9.30am to 5.30pm and over the weekend from 10am to 5.30pm.
The goods will be distributed by animal protection associations and groups of volunteers.
