Christmas family fun at Vale do Lobo

A unique ferry crossing!

Today (April 20), Matthew Loddy is running his 98th marathon in his challenge to run 100 full marathons in 100 days.

The British runner began his charitable journey in the direction of England from Praia da Luz on January 14  via Spain, stopping only for food and rest.

Matthew Loddy crossed the channel to the UK on a ferry, where he continued his daily run on a treadmill running machine.

Matthew set the challenge for himself after his friend Phil Latham passed away at the age of 26 in 2010 from stomach cancer, and has the aim of raising £100,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust and St Francis Hospice in Berkamsted, England.

He is expected to arrive in London on Sunday (April 22).
