GNR police attached to coastal control at Vila Real de Santo António seized around a ton of cockles from “a passenger vehicle” travelling on the EN125 in Tavira on Wednesday.
According to a report on Rádio Horizonte, the cockles were all returned to “their natural habitat”. The ‘catch’, valued at €3,360, was reported as having been transported in a vehicle “without any legal documentation”.
