A taste of Spain from Dúo Mecina

Dúo Mecina, the musical pairing of Francisco Cantó on clarinet and Isolda Crespi on piano, will be taking to the stage for two concerts on March 25 and March 27 at the São Lourenço Cultural Centre.

The March 25 concert will be dedicated to the theme of Nature and City and will feature pieces by Robert Muczinsky, Robert Schumann and Edward Toldra, while the March 27 concert will be focussed on Spanish music with examples from Albert Guinovart, Salvador Brotons and Isaac Albéniz.

Dúo Mecina came together when Francisco Cantó and Isolda Crespi met at the Royal College of Music in 2000.

The pair have performed as Dúo Mecina at various locations in London, at the Edinburgh Festival and also at the Festival of Cadaqués.

Both concerts will begin at 7.30pm with wine and snacks being served from 7pm.  Entry costs 25 euros for guests and non members.
