A small but worthwhile “Living in Portugal” event in Marbella

The main attraction is Portugal’s Non-Habitual Resident (NHR) tax regime

Last Friday, November 25, saw six companies join forces with the Open Media Group (publishers of the Portugal Resident) to stage a small event in Marbella with the objective of attracting residents of the Costa del Sol to the benefits of living across the border in Portugal.

Don Pepe Gran Meliá, Marbella

Advertising online and in print was placed with the leading media on the Costa Del Sol such as Sur in English, the Spanish language daily Sur newspaper, The Olive Press newspaper and MyGuide Marbella along with social media and Google advertising.

The advertising campaign attracted some 130 people to register for the event at the Don Pepe Gran Meliá, resulting in “a good turn-out on the day, proving the theory of all involved that there is a strong demand amongst foreign and national residents of the region to learn more about living in Portugal,” said the organiser of the event, Open Media’s Bruce Hawker. “The main attraction is undoubtedly Portugal’s Non-Habitual Resident (NHR) tax regime, but Portugal is also seen as a more peaceful place to live,” said Bruce.

Event partners joining Open Media at the event were Blevins Franks, The Sovereign Group, Martinez-Echevarría & Ferreira, Ombria Resort, C1 Brokers and Fine & Country Algarve.

Such was the positive feedback that plans are already being made to stage another event in Marbella next year.
