A quarter of Portuguese “will work in tourism” by 2027

Within the next decade, tourism will be responsible for supplying the jobs of up to one million Portuguese.

This is the forecast delivered by the WTTC (World Travel and Tourism Council) which sees Portugal’s tourism sector continuing to power the country’s economic recovery, creating jobs in all kinds of ancillary industries.

Tourism minister Ana Godinho has said this is why the government is focusing on training people for the sector.
