A purrfect garden party

More than €800 was raised at a garden party for the VagabunDOGs animal charity (Asociacion Internacional por los Animales Abandonados) in Luz de Tavira on September 9.

Pauline Padley once again hosted an entertaining programme of events and was delighted with the response. “People have been so generous and we had some beautiful paintings, framed photographs and a mosaic mirror donated for the auction,” Pauline said.

“Sometimes I have up to a dozen kittens waiting to be homed. All the animals are checked by a vet and given the appropriate injections. We would love to hear from anyone who might be able to foster a kitten or two.”

The 50 guests enjoyed an extensive barbecue and buffet whilst Tony Woods provided a wide and varied selection of music.

A special surprise guest was Pauline’s sister Gloria Bellack who had travelled from her home in Florida. Gloria was so impressed with the work being done by the charity that she generously offered a week’s use of an apartment in Florida or Mexico for €500 with all the proceedings going to the charity.
