A prized event

A gourmet dinner designed to delight the most discerning of palates will take place at the Morgadinho restaurant in the Suites Alba Resort & Spa, near Carvoeiro, on May 18.

Louis Anjos, the executive chef and winner of the ‘Chefe Cozinheiro 2012’ prize, has invited Tiago Bonito from the Vilalara Thalassa Resort and winner of the ‘Chefe Cozinheiro’ 2011’ prize, to take part in a gastronomic evening comprising a menu of six courses with matching wines from Herdade do Rocim.

The duo has created a menu inspired by the most typical regional and national products.

Diners will be able to try mackerel, crab and lemon as an appetiser, followed by starters of foie gras, Granny Smith apple and Tonka beans, and duck egg, asparagus and smoked ham.

As for the fish dish, the chefs will prepare turbot with shiitake mushrooms, which will be served before the lamb-based meat dish. For dessert, visitors may end their meal with a white chocolate, orange and pistachio dish.

Cost per person is €37.50 for the meal and €10 for the wine.
