Re-enactment association Centro Interpretativo de Alcalar is recreating an historic scenic event called Um dia na pré-história (pre-historic day) on September 26.
The event will give families the opportunity to spend a day travelling back in time to the daily lives of the local community.
Portimão Museum staff, in collaboration with the Cultural Regional Bureau, organises the event that through workshops allow visitors to explore the activities of that time, such as hunting, weaving, pottery, harvesting, milling, the manufacture of objects and utensils and the process of baking ceramics, among other experiences.
Admission to the event is free between 10am to 12.30pm and from 2pm to 4.30pm.
A Vai e Vem free bus will be available from 9.30am, with departures from the Municipal Museum every 30 minutes and stops at Largo do Dique towards Alcalar.
The Alcalar necropolis is about nine kilometres from Portimão and comprises 20 graves, grouped into several clusters with a wide range of architectural diversity.
