Passion, an exhibition featuring 18 large elephant sculptures created by several artists, was officially inaugurated on April 16 at Martinhal Beach Resort & Hotel in Sagres.
Attendees included the exhibition creator, Karl Heinz Stock, also an artist and owner of the award winning Quinta dos Vales winery and exhibition park in Estombar, Vila do Bispo councillors Anabela Martins and Rute Silva, and the director of children’s home Casa de Nossa Sra da Conceição, Dr Nuno Morais.
As part of the resort’s fundraising initiative Helping Hands, a ‘white elephant’, representing those who donated towards the children’s home, was blessed by Father Joel from Vila do Bispo Church. Each person donating €2 to the cause until October will leave a hand print on the white elephant. The exhibition runs until May 16.
