Guylaine, an interior consultant, discovered Lisbon, the Alentejo and the Algarve eight years ago with her husband Philippe, a designer, and their four children. They knew, then, that a part of their adventurous life would take place here. They were immediately seduced by the way of life, the beautiful landscapes, shores and skies, the kindness and generosity of the Portuguese, and the friendliness of the foreign people living in the Algarve. Guylaine, encouraged by the success of her first ‘maison-boutique’ in Paris and supported by her friend, Isabelle, of Quinta dos Amigos, has decided to open her second shop here in the Algarve.
The Resident team met Guylaine and visited the ‘living showroom’ she has created in an old quinta. We can say for certain that it’s a really new, unique and authentic place, without equivalent in the region. The antique objects that Guylaine passionately tracks down all over Europe, mixed with selected original creations or reproductions, reflect the lifestyle of the country of origin.
