ACCORDING to a source close to Prime Minister, Durão Barroso, the leader recently made a personal phone call to the new Spanish Prime Minister, José Luís Zapatero, inviting him to visit Portugal as a guest of honour. “Zapatero accepted and said that it would be an honour to visit the country soon,” the source revealed. The same person revealed that both Prime Ministers discussed the close bond that had existed between Barroso and Spain’s previous Prime Minister, José Aznar, and both agreed to continue to work closely together.
