Today (Monday) Portugal received around half a million doses of the new Covid vaccines, adapted to the BA.4 and BA.5 variants. By the end of the month, the country is due to receive another half million doses. As authorities have explained, these new adapted vaccines will only be administered to people coming forwards for booster doses. Anyone else wanting a vaccine will be offered the original vaccines, created before BA.4 and BA.5 were in transmission.
