A Mexican agenda for December

After five successful years in London, Tacuba has launched the first Algarve-based cocktail bar, restaurant and art gallery, Tacuba Ferragudo, which serves authentic Mexican street food and drinks.

To celebrate the opening there will be a session of events taking place throughout December, and a promotion offering a 10% discount on food bills, and a free first cocktail for customers.

Today (Friday) and tomorrow a traditional Portuguese band will perform live, and for those who enjoy alternative, rock, funk, or indie music types, then on December 16 and 17, DJs from throughout the Algarve will play.

To celebrate the final days in the Christmas countdown, on December 23 and 24 there will be a live performance from a jazz and afro-latin rhythms group.

Bringing December to a close, Tacuba will host a New Year’s Eve party, with fireworks over the River Arade.

The art gallery will be open every day.

Tacuba owner Usiel Jurado said: “We are trying to build a space focused very much in support of local, regional, national and international manifestations that will enhance and recognise the historical and cultural value of the site, meaning the whole Arade in the Algarve in general and Ferragudo and Lagoa in particular.”
