THE HUGO Beaty Bar & Café at the Oceânico resort Estrela da Luz, in Praia da Luz, is being re-launched in 2006 with new prices and more sandwich and salad selections!
Manager Mário Ascenso, who recently returned from working in five star resorts in the Caribbean, said: “We have an interesting mixture of people at the Hugo Beaty Bar & Café – local people, holidaymakers who are staying at the resort and gymnasium members. All our customers want good, wholesome food and, by offering sandwiches and salads, which include healthy options, they will all be able to choose a meal to suit their appetite and diet.”
Breakfasts are served between 9am and midday, and range from a full English breakfast to muesli with yoghurt and fruit. They also include a few unusual temptations, such as the ‘nutella toastie’, which serves just as well as a mid-morning snack.
The sandwich bar is open all day from midday, where you can choose from a wide display of breads, fillings and salads, all reasonably priced. The hearty soup costs only two euros and, if you take this issue of The Resident, you can get a 20 per cent discount off your meal!
From midday to 3pm, light bites are served such as cheeseburgers and Cajun spiced potato wedges; or you can try one of the daily specials at only seven euros, which include chili con carne and chicken curry. Finish your meal with a slice of chocolate cake or one of the other homemade desserts priced at only 2.50 euros.
In the evening, the Hugo Beaty Bar & Café provides a great venue to meet friends for food, a cocktail or just a few refreshing beers. Light bites and sandwiches are available from 6pm to 9pm. Also situated within the bar is the Steve Davis Club Room, where over-18’s can play pool, cards or watch sport on the big screen TV.
