Islamic-inspired colours, flavours and aromas come together in ‘Crescent Nights’, a belly-dancing show that is taking place at the Casa da Cultura Islâmica e Mediterrânica in Silves on September 21 at 9.30pm.
Flowing curtains, Moroccan cushions, quilts, carpets and colourful lamps set the scene for the solo performance by belly-dancer Zuhairah Gulshan, which promises to take the audience on a journey to the East whilst they enjoy mint tea and fig treats.
Dancer, choreographer and belly-dancing teacher Zuhairah Gulshan first started belly-dancing in 2001, before taking part in a number of workshops, including belly-dancing, creative dancing, flamenco, dance therapy and sacred dances. The dancer currently organises workshops and seminars in belly-dancing, creative dancing, personal development and female energy.
Tickets cost €8 and can be purchased at the Casa da Cultura Islâmica e Mediterrânica in Silves, at the Associação dos Amigos da Mexilhoeira da Carregação (Friends of Mexilhoeira da Carregação Association) and at Ideias do Levante in Lagoa.
