A Grand Night of Variety was held on November 22 at the Lagoa Auditorium for the third year running, raising more than 3,500 euros for local charities.
The Stars dance school of Carvoeiro Tennis Club opened the show with a dance routine to Michael Jackson followed by Carrie Bratley as Amy Winehouse.
Gloria Costa followed as Edith Piaf and Lara Costa appeared as Mae West, along with toy boy Victor, in her rendition of Great Balls of Fire.
Next up was the exotic dancing of Marion Bedbur, followed by host Ian Carfrae, accompanied by wife Karen, in their duo Class Act, which was followed by a variety of ballets performed by students from Franco School of Ballet in Lagos.
There was also folk music by Iona, songs from the musicals by Simone Nauck, blue grass from The Rocky Mountain Duo, hip hop dancing by Natasha and a juggling act from Tim Gomez of Circo Pequeno.
A raffle was held for the Donkey Sanctuary in Estombar, which alone raised 720 euros.
Ticket sales and donations raised a further 2,852.55 euros which will be donated to the Parish day care for senior citizens in Estombar leading to a grand total for the evening of 3,572.55 euros.
