A fusion of art and food

If you’re looking for a romantic meal, a special dinner with friends or light gourmet lunch, then look no further than Restaurante dos Artistas in the historical centre of Lagos.

Established in 2000 by German resident Wilhelm Doestch-Ingwersen, the restaurant offers an exciting menu bursting with fresh produce and locally caught fish served in a colourful and tastefully decorated dining room or romantic patio garden.

“Our restaurant gives such great importance to the freshness of the products used that we go directly to Sagres to buy the wild caught fish from the fishermen’s auction, which we have a licence to do,” said Willhelm.

“This year, we have welcomed Daniel Kattner as head chef to our team, who has had international experience in one and two Michelin starred restaurants.”

Restaurante dos Artistas offers a broad range of international cuisine, including a new daily two course lunch menu and weekly tasting menus as well as à la carte options. Popular dishes include fillet of Saint Pierre, grilled tiger prawns, fillet of beef with braised pork cheek ravioli and surf and turf made from beef fillet and grilled lobster.

A great variety of excellent Portuguese wines and French champagnes are also available.

The restaurant is open Monday to Saturday all year round for lunch from midday until 2pm and in the evening from 6pm until midnight.
