Head teaching golf professional at Vale do Lobo Golf Club, Steve Walker, will be leaving the club after 22 years to pursue a new golfing challenge in Holland.
Steve, who moved to the Algarve when he was 15 years old, has worked in Germany and Portugal and has also spent time on the tour.
For the past 17 years, he has worked continuously at Vale do Lobo.
Students of Steve Walker praised his teaching skills, saying: “He is a truly wonderful teacher and we and many others at the club believe he is one of the best in Europe. He will be missed by many, many members and visitors alike.”
Steve Walker will be working for former Vale do Lobo owner, Dutch businessman Sander van Gelder, at the Cromvoirt Golf and Country Club, a new development in Holland due to open in 2012.
“I would like to thank everyone at Vale do Lobo for all their support over the years and wish everyone the best for the future,” he said.
