A five star Christmas for the Algarve wine society

MORE THAN 100 members of the Algarve Wine Society and guests celebrated the advent of Christmas with a traditional lunch at the Amadeus restaurant in Almancil, organised by Paul Lucas.

There were two lunches at Amadeus, the fifth Michelin star restaurant in the Algarve. Siegfried Danler-Heinemann and his team showed just why they had been so honoured. The meal, and the very attentive service, was memorable.

The Algarve Wine Society’s 2006 activities are now concluded, but 2007 will be another full year. First up will be the Annual General Meeting on Saturday, February 24, at the Sheraton Pine Cliffs.

The meeting will be followed by a gala black tie dinner dance. In March there will be a special tasting of Argentine and Chilean wines and in April there will be a gourmet dinner.

At the end of May the Society’s first trip of the year will go to the Loire Valley and in June a tasting will be combined with the ever popular summer party.
