Taste is a charming and eclectic restaurant in Carvoeiro.
Here you can be assured of a warm and accommodating welcome from husband and wife team Ciprian and Nicola.
With Venezuelan Head Chef Jimmy Cruz (formerly Chef de Parte at Gary Rhodes) creating mouth watering dishes such as bacon-wrapped dates filled with goat’s cheese and succulent main courses including black pork with chestnuts, mushrooms and a port wine sauce, it’s not hard to understand why they are building a steady bank of regular guests.
The new autumn/winter menu is being devised and with dishes like salmon fillet with creamy Champagne and almond sauce, and wines like Curva Reserva making it through to the final selection, we are very much looking forward to seeing the finished article.
Taste hosts live music on Thursdays, a rib-eye steak night on Saturdays (for only €15), Christmas markets, daily specials and, of course, the option of just popping in for some tapas and wine. It is advisable to reserve your table in advance to avoid disappointment.
