A concert under the stars

THIS SUNDAY, June 25, the Algarve Orchestra returns to Vale do Lobo for its annual concert under the stars, in the spectacular setting of the 18th hole of the Ocean Golf Course. The talented young musicians of the Algarve Orchestra will accompany the sun as it sets over the landscaped gardens and golf courses of Vale do Lobo.

The Algarve Orchestra unites 31 musicians of different nationalities, selected through international auditions. They will be joined this year by Roger Muraro, a French-Italian pianist who has won much critical acclaim for his concerts throughout the world. He has worked with such leading conductors as Zubin Mehta, Myung-Whun Chung, Marek Janowski, Valery Gergiev, Kent Nagano, Yuri Ahronovitch, and Yukata Sado, as well as prestigious orchestras such as the Berlin, Vienna and Perth Philharmonics, the Leipzig Gewandhaus, the National Orchestra of France, the Residential Orchestra of the Hague, the Berlin RSO, and the Dutch Radio Orchestra, among others.

The evening will commence with cocktails at 7.30pm. The performance begins at 8pm and is expected to last approximately one hour and 20 minutes. Tickets for the concert are available at 30 euros (general public) from the Vale do Lobo reception. Tel: 289 353 322, Fax: 289 353001 or e-mail: [email protected]
