A chance to meet Santa at Vilamoura Christmas Fair

The Vilamoura International School (Colégio Internacional de Vilamoura) is holding its Christmas Fair this Saturday (November 25), from 10am to 2.30pm, in aid of four charities supporting the underprivileged.

The fair will feature several stalls selling everything from books, toys and jewellery to Christmas decorations and crafts. There will also be food stalls serving national and international cuisine, pastries and regional and organic products.

But a Christmas Fair wouldn’t be the same without an appearance from Santa Claus! Children can expect the white-bearded man to make a special visit at 11am.

Christmas songs will be sung by children from the pre-primary and primary sections from 11.30am and a raffle ticket draw will take place at 1pm.

“Join us and be part of this great solidarity event with music, storytelling and entertainment,” say organisers. “The path to creating a better world involves the participation of children in initiatives aimed at helping others.”

Funds raised at the Christmas Fair will be donated to the Social Canteen in Quarteira (providing support to the local community in need); Associação Partilhas e Cuidados (working with cancer patients and their families), The Big Hand (promoting education among children in Mozambique) and Associação Existir (providing support to special needs people and the underprivileged; it is also collecting non-perishable food at the entrance to the fair).
