Offering one of the country’s largest selection of national and international wines, it is no surprise that the much-prized nectar is the theme of a two-week celebration at Apolónia Supermarkets, starting tomorrow, September 21.
Held every year to cement Apolónia’s status as a leading wine stockist, the 2013 Apolónia Wine Fair will include great discounts on wines (up to 60%) and tasting sessions, as well as the opportunity to know more about the 1,500 wine varieties on sale at the Apolónia supermarkets in Almancil and Galé.
This year, the event will take place until October 6 in both supermarkets, with clients enjoying special prices on a carefully selected list of wines not only from Portugal, but also from South Africa, Australia, USA, Argentina, Greece, Chile, France and Italy.
Amongst the discounted wines available at the fair are some well-known Portuguese labels, including the Douro red Casa Burmester Touriga Nacional; Alentejo’s Quinta do Cidrô red, a Cabernet and Touriga Nacional blend; and magnums of what was considered the best Alvarinho wine of 2012, Quintas de Melgaço white.
Locally, the renowned Barranco Longo Cabernet Sauvignon red, produced in Algoz, will benefit from a 40% discount on its retail price, whilst international labels such as Italy’s Zonin Pinot Grigio, France’s Billecart-Salmon Champagne Réserve and the awarded Terrazas Malbec Reserva red, from Argentina, will also be displaying inviting price tags.
Tending to the needs of the local and international communities in the Algarve, Apolónia stocks more than 20,000 products, sourced locally and abroad, with everything from everyday essentials to the most exclusive gourmet products.
