A bike ride through spectacular scenery

The pretty village of Querença is always a popular place for a coffee break and the Algarve Senior Bikers (ASB) always get a nice welcome from Rosa who has the café facing the church in the village centre.

The group had the pleasure of visiting Rosa again on route to a circular tour through the hills north of Salir on March 19.

“There were spectacular views in all directions, at every twist and turn of the steep roads,” said the riders.

The event was completed with lunch enjoyed on the sunny terrace of Restaurant O Folclore in Alte. Baltazar, the resident donkey, occasionally joined in the conversation.

Group leaders this time were Miriam Post and David Shirley with assistance from Ulf Kollbratt and Peter Kenyon.

The next event will be on Sunday, April 7. Meet in Silves for a visit to the autodrome, near Portimão.
