A 20 year tradition

news: A 20 year tradition

Pinetrees Riding Centre in Almancil recently celebrated 20 years of activity.

One of the longest established riding schools in the Algarve and the first to gain prestigious approval by the A.B.R.S, this centre is well recognised for supplying a quality product to the tourist industry and for its promotion of therapeutic riding in Portugal. When the centre first opened, however, there were serious doubts about reaching a first birthday.

The day before the launch a forest fire headed towards the centre, forcing proprietor Bev Gibbons to remove ‘lock, stock and barrel’, as they say, and flee for safety.

After a night surrounded by flaming pines, it was possible to return, tidy up the mess and put on the first birthday party which has become a tradition.

The Pinetrees team celebrated in style with champagne and Sweet Marilyn’s lemon torte birthday cake. And this year’s party also celebrated the launch of an exciting new website, designed by Annika Fedor. This colourful, informative and easy-to-use site can be found on www.pinetreesridingcentre.com
