9th Grand Night of Variety brings “first class performers” to Lagoa

This year’s Grand Night of Variety will again be packed with first class artists taking to the stage of Lagoa’s auditorium on November 20. “It is expected to be a fabulous night,” says organiser Jenny Grainer.

One of the new acts, a novelty group calling themselves ‘Tu Tu Ta Ta’, will play exciting African drums with soloist Sérgio Almeida, while local musician Pedro Frias will delight all with the sounds coming from his classical guitar.

Well known throughout the Algarve is the New Orleans Jazz Band who will again perform this year. “They will no doubt bring along with them their very large group of fans,” says Jenny.

For appreciators of ballet there will be a performance from the Associação de Dança de Lagos who will be joining the show for the first time, as is Mário Miguel, a tribute to Neil Diamond.

The performers are providing their talents for free to support the Centro de Apoio Social de Carvoeiro, an organisation helping the needy in the area.

There will also be a raffle in aid of SOS Oncológico, a group supporting those suffering from breast cancer.

Doors and bar open at 7pm and the show begins at 8.30pm.

Tickets cost €14 and can be reserved by calling 282 789 608 or emailing [email protected]
