An 80-year-old Portuguese woman died at Armação de Pêra’s Pescadores beach on Monday (July 26) after reportedly fainting while in the sea.
Authorities were alerted just before 1pm. Lifeguards and beachgoers provided basic life support until an INEM medical team arrived, but resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful.
The victim’s body was transported to Portimão’s legal medicine office by Silves firefighters.
