The strike today at CP ticket offices is having “significant adhesion”, with 75% closed across the country, and those that remain open run by workers who are still in the probationary period, according to the union. Speaking to Lusa news agency, Luis Bravo of the Railway Union of Itinerant Commercial Review (SFRCI) said this “significant adhesion” of workers shows “the discontentment in the company”. Discontentment in the wider population is less reported on, but will be high as this year has been beset with strikes and industrial action on the nation’s railways.
