71-year-old woman arrested for suspected arson in Pombal

A 71-year-old woman has been arrested by PJ police today, suspected of having started a fire ‘using direct flame’ in Pombal. It was only thanks to “rapid and effective intervention by means of combat” that the fire did not rage out of control. The woman is understood to have started the fire at night. The area is one of ‘dispersed homes’. In other words, people could very easily have been put in grave danger. The woman will be presented before a magistrate to hear bail terms.
