University degree holders represented 10% of the total number of unemployed people in Portugal in March.
When looking at the period from March 2011 to March 2012, the number of unemployed degree holders has increased by 40%, now totalling 67,000 of the 661,000 jobless people in Portugal.
The data released by the Ministry of Solidarity and Social Security reveals that the higher the level of education a person has the less job opportunities exist in the country. Also read lead story on opposite page.
