5G: Portugal’s auction finally over, market expands to six operators: “prices will fall”

With Portugal’s 5G auction finally over, the results are that the market has been expanded from three to six operators, competition has increased and prices will fall. This is the take of Expresso today following an interview with telecoms regulator ANACOM. Thus NOS, Vodafone and Altice are now joined by Nowo, DixaRobil and Dense Air, all of whom have been awarded 20 year contracts. The paper adds that the State has pocketed €566.8 million from the auction.
