In the first nine months of this year no less than 5,700 Portuguese workers lost their jobs, either as a result of collective dismissals or the ‘amicable rescission of work contracts’, RTP news has reported. The data, coming from IEFP – the national institute for employment and professional training – corresponds to an overall job loss of 800 less jobs in the same period this year than in 2014, explained RTP, though the year’s total “could still increase”.
